Power Ranking The Original Skittles Flavors

Happy hump day and day #5 of power rankings. Today’s blog is brought to you by the 2 inches of snow that we got last night. Only further proving that I'm right in calling spring a shitty season. On a day that is so gloomy, why not taste the rainbow. That’s right we’re power ranking the original skittles based upon flavor. If you read my power rankings of peeps on Easter, this is the complete opposite as far as what determines the skittles worth.

Let’s taste the rainbow.

5. Yellow-Does anyone really enjoy the yellow skittles? This is a serious question, because I feel like the yellow skittle is only tolerated by people because there are other flavors in the bag. The big candy industry has convinced themselves that all fruity-chewing candies need a lemon flavor in the mix. I think I speak for everyone when I say, don’t. Just skip the lemon flavor.

4. Orange- The orange skittle is literally the red-headed stepchild in the bag of skittles. Their orange flavor is better than that of the lemon flavor that comes with the yellow skittle. But overall, it still leaves something to be desired for in the realm of taste. The orange flavor/color is another example of big candy committing to serving people a candy they think is essential.

3. Purple- We're finally entering the area of plus territory with skittles and their flavors. The purple skittle is not bad by any means, but I think it could be better. I believe that they have a spot in skittles bag and clearly deserve to be regarded as better than orange and yellow. But if I’m going to be an honest critic, they have lots of room for Improvement.

2. Red- A perennial title contender that has been in the game longer than I have been eating candy. In the big candy industry, is there any red chewy candy that isn’t good? Exactly. This is a treat that is almost impossible to mess up. Complacency is a dangerous thing and I think that is slightly apparent with the red skittle. They know that they taste good but when was the last time they did anything to improve themselves? The red skittle is almost on the hot seat.

1. Green- Talk about the glow up of the freaking century. When the green skittle changed from lemon-lime to green apple, they became the best skittle in the bag.The move is equivalent to the Patriots hiring Bill Belichick. When the skittles brand bet on themselves and changed the flavor other big candy companies were clowning them. But who’s laughing now? Probably the guy who recommended changing the flavor to green apple because now the green skittle is the best in the bag.
