Power Ranking QBs From The 0-16 Detroit Lions

Day #19 of the power ranking push. Today’s blog is brought to you by multiple cups of coffee and a day full of essential work. Power rankings are super cool because anything Is fair game to be ranked, funny stuff, weird stuff or sad stuff. It’s all fair game. Which is exactly why I’m power ranking the quarterbacks from the 2008 Detroit Lions.

Those 2008 Lions were a special bunch. Very elite quarterback room, bursting with potential yet somehow, they didn’t win a single game. Breaking down the dysfunctional Detroit Lions is another blog for another day. Today we’ll just power rank, Drew Stanton, Jon Kitna, Daunte Culpepper and Dan Orlovsky. Let’s ride.

4. Jon Kitna – When you look at where Kitna came from, he ended up with one hell of a career. But we’re not here to discuss that, rather the lack of success in 2008. Kitna only appeared in 4 games that season but he obviously managed to lose them all. In those 4 games Kitna threw for 5 TDs and 5 INTs. I don’t think Kitna was the entire problem with this team but he’s the name I remember the most. Sorry Jon.

3. Drew Stanton – For all I know, Drew Stanton is still buried somewhere in the NFL as a backup QB. As a rookie, Stanton appeared in only 3 games for the Lions and didn’t throw a single interception (he only threw for 1 TD though). I’ll be totally honest; the only reason Stanton isn’t last on the list is because he played at Michigan State. Gotta respect the Spartan Dawgs.

2. Daunte Culpepper – The mid-season addition was a last-ditch effort for the Lions to sell some tickets and one last chance for Culpepper to throw a football in the NFL. It didn’t really work out for either team, but Culpepper’s time was electric the whole time, even though I entirely forgot about him playing in the Motor City.

1. Dan Orlovsky – Despite the dumb things this man did while playing football, Orlovsky seems to have figured things out now. Orlovsky works with ESPN and does good breakdowns of football. He’s also the first to defended Matthew Stafford (a good Lions QB) and the Lions team on Twitter. We all know that the Lion are still pathetic, so it is very smart that this dumbass defends the den online. It worked so well I put him at #1 in this ranking. But please enjoy him running pout of the back of the end zone.  Never good when the TV announcer says "Poor guy" while talking about you.
