There are cool professors and then there’s Tom Humphreys. Professor Tom Humphreys teaches business, insurance, risk management and financial planning courses at Olivet College. Before you start yawning too loudly, Olivet College currently ranks second in Best’s Review survey of leading college insurance and risk management programs. So, when you think about it, Humphreys is basically the Tom Izzo of education at Olivet.
Like literally every single other educator in the country, his daily duties are vastly different as he socially distances and educates the youth from home. Tom could sit at home, lecture on Zoom for a few hours every day and just call that good. That is after all, what 99% of professors in the country are doing right now. Tom’s not like other professors though. He’s cut from a different cloth.
My guy Tom Humphreys held office hours on Club Penguin.. What a baller move. Screw the Zoom calls, I really believe that there’s such a thing as too many Zoom calls. Club Penguin in the new move during the rest of quarantine. Such a classy move on Tom’s part to offer to meet with students regarding actual content on a platform that he probably uses as an escape from the real world. Who says you can’t mix business with pleasure?
Tom has also recently invited former bachelor contestant Colton Underwood to join a Zoom call for class. Huge flex on Tom’s part to first tell a bachelor star that he's welcome (he's had issues with Pilot Pete showing up unannounced) and then to request that Colton slides into his DMs first. Must respect it. No word on if Colton Underwood is an insurance expert or if he joined the call. However, I have heard that he is quite the Club Penguin guy. When the tough gets goin’, Tom gets on Club Penguin. More people need to be like Tom Humphreys and just make your job fun during a weird time of American history.
