This is super messed up that I even have to type this. It was first reported by TMZ that Kobe Bryant was one of five people who perished in a Calabasas helicopter crash. The TMZ report was later verified by Woj of ESPN. It has now been reported that his 13 year old daughter, Gianna Maria was on board.
Absolutely unreal that this has happened. Kobe played 20 years for the Lakers and amassed a crazy amount of accolades but his overall impact might be the most significant part of his legacy. When I was younger I yelled "Kobe" shooting a basketball or garbage in a trash can. He was a larger than life guy who was kinda a real life super hero. The Mamba was influential to me and many other basketball fans.
